Balvinder made her professional stage debut in 2001 at Oldham Coliseum Theatre and spent the early part of her television career moving through supporting roles across the major British soaps. In Emmerdale between 2009 and 2018, she played a solicitor and two separate police officers. She appeared in Coronation Street in police roles, had a four-episode stint in Hollyoaks in 2018, and guest spots in Waterloo Road, Doctors, and Call the Midwife.
