Maria Braccini is an Italian model and social media influencer who spent about four years as Jannik Sinner’s girlfriend, from 2020 to 2024, without either of them ever making it public in their own words.
What’s known about the relationship comes from Italian press reporting, a small number of paparazzi photographs, and her own Instagram posts. Sinner, the world number one, has spoken about her once in an interview. He never used her name.

Who Is Maria Braccini
Braccini was born around 2000 in New Delhi and raised in Montevarchi, a small town in Tuscany’s Arezzo province. A few Italian outlets have listed her birth year as 2001 instead, and her exact birthdate has never been published. She holds Italian citizenship.
Italian media has called her a model for most of the past five years, though no outlet has documented an actual modeling contract, agency, or campaign under her name. What is documented is her following. Her Instagram account, @mariabraccini, grew from roughly 150,000 followers in late 2023 to about 401,000 now. The account is private, and she posts to it only a few times a year.
How They Met
The relationship traces back to a family holiday. In 2020, Braccini’s family stayed at Rifugio Fondovalle, a mountain refuge above Sesto in South Tyrol run by Sinner’s own parents, Hanspeter and Siglinde. Hanspeter has cooked at the refuge for two decades and has spoken about it, and about his son, in Italian interviews since.
According to Sky TG24, Sinner liked and commented on Braccini’s Instagram posts for weeks afterward, and the two started seeing each other in 2020.
Their Years Together
The relationship first became public in September 2021, when Braccini posted a photo of the two of them kissing to mark what would have been their first anniversary. Sinner, who has kept his personal life out of view throughout his career, was reportedly unhappy about the post, and the couple split not long after.
They reconciled at some point in the two years that followed, though the exact timing has never been reported. The only time paparazzi photographed them together in person came on November 28, 2023, when they were seen in the stands at San Siro watching AC Milan play Borussia Dortmund, two days after Italy won the Davis Cup.
At one point in the relationship, Sinner gave an interview to a regional broadcaster in which he described his girlfriend, again without naming her, as calm and low pressure, someone who understood that his sport came first. Italian outlets, including Il Mattino, have quoted that same description for years since.
The Breakup
The relationship ended in the spring of 2024, within days of Sinner winning his first Miami Open title. Neither side has said why.
Weeks later, shortly before the French Open, Sinner’s relationship with Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya became public. This time he confirmed it in his own words, telling reporters he was with Anna.
Braccini stayed off social media for close to three months. When she returned, on July 5, 2024, she posted a long message that never named Sinner but described a difficult month and referenced feelings of rejection, ending with a line about one door closing so another can open.
The Reunion Rumors
Braccini has resurfaced in Italian tabloids twice since the breakup, and both times the reporting outpaced what could be verified.
In November 2024, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported that Braccini had been seen sitting a few rows back at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin while Sinner beat Taylor Fritz, a sighting that set off reunion speculation partly because Kalinskaya was absent that day. The outlet’s own account traced the claim to a single social media page, not to its own reporting. No newsroom that covered the story confirmed her presence there directly.
The following May, Braccini posted a photo of herself at the Trevi Fountain, timed with Sinner’s run through the Italian Open. That much is true, since she posted it herself. The idea that she had traveled there because of his tournament came from her own followers, who connected it in the comments to earlier sightings in Paris and Turin. Asked directly whether she and Sinner were back together, she answered plainly: “No. No return, no boyfriend! Please…” Sinner lost that final in straight sets and told reporters afterward that he wasn’t in a relationship.
That changed five months later. In October 2025, Sinner confirmed a new relationship, with Danish model Laila Hasanovic, thanking his girlfriend from the podium after winning the Vienna Open. He didn’t say her name that day either.
Where Is Maria Braccini Now
Sinner plays Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s Wimbledon final. There is no new reporting connecting Braccini to the tournament. Her Instagram following has settled at around 401,000 after two years of fast growth, and nothing in her recent activity mentions Sinner or tennis.
Braccini has never given an interview about the relationship, before or after it ended. What’s documented across five years of coverage comes down to one photograph, one denied rumor, and the things she has written on Instagram herself. Sinner has confirmed a relationship in his own words three times since 2020. He has named the woman only once.
