When Camden landed on Disney+ and Hulu on 29 May 2024, it was one of the most high-profile music documentary releases of the year. Asif Kapadia directed it. Dua Lipa executive produced it. Chris Martin, Noel Gallagher, Mark Ronson, and Little Simz were among the artists who sat for it. The production company that helped make it happen was Day One Pictures.
Its co-founder gave no interviews about it. He still hasn’t.
That is, in short, the story of Jasper Waller-Bridge. His name draws searches because of his wife, his sister, or the baby news from early 2026. What those searches rarely return is any real account of who he is and what he spent fifteen years building before any of it became publicly visible.

Who Is Jasper Waller-Bridge?
Jasper Waller-Bridge is a British film and television producer and music manager based in London. Born in 1987, he is the youngest child of the Waller-Bridge family and a co-founder of Day One Pictures, the production company behind Camden, the 2024 four-part documentary series for Disney+ and Hulu. He is the husband of Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery and the younger brother of Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
A Career Built Behind the Camera
Before Day One Pictures, Jasper worked across two demanding sides of British entertainment: major label music and talent management.
He began in music as an executive at Island Records and Sony Music, then moved into talent representation at James Grant Group, one of Britain’s established agencies. From there he rose to Creative Development Director at YMU Group, a global management company handling talent across music, sport, drama, and entertainment.
The most visible chapter of that period was his role as Louis Tomlinson’s manager from 2017 to 2018. Tomlinson had just left One Direction and was working out what a solo career looked like without the machinery of the world’s biggest pop group behind him. Jasper managed that transition for two years and moved on.
In 2020, he co-founded Day One Pictures with Nick Shymansky, Amy Winehouse’s original manager and nephew of Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge, and Ben Friedman. Michelle Dockery is also a co-founder. The company was built around music-driven documentary content from the start.
The Waller-Bridge Family
Jasper is the youngest of three children born to Michael Waller-Bridge, founder of the Tradepoint electronic trading platform, and Teresa Waller-Bridge, daughter of Sir John Edward Longueville Clerke, 12th Baronet of Hitcham, Buckinghamshire. The family traces its lineage to landed gentry of Cuckfield, Sussex. Teresa also worked for the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers, one of the City of London’s ancient livery companies. Michael and Teresa divorced when Phoebe was a teenager.
All three children chose the arts.
Isobel Waller-Bridge, born in 1984 and the eldest, is an award-winning composer. She holds a Royal Academy of Music scholarship and an MA with distinction from King’s College London, where she studied under composer George Benjamin. Her credits include the BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated short The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, Emma (2020), Munich: The Edge of War (2021), Wicked Little Letters, and television scores for Fleabag, Black Mirror, and Sweetpea.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, born in 1985, created, wrote, and starred in Fleabag, winning three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, and a BAFTA. She has since appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and worked as a consultant on Killing Eve.
Jasper is the youngest. There is no interview with him on record.
Camden: Day One Pictures’ First Major Production
The creative connection that produced Camden goes back to 2015. Nick Shymansky, who co-founded Day One Pictures with Jasper, was Amy Winehouse’s original manager and appeared throughout Asif Kapadia’s documentary Amy that year. He and Kapadia built a working relationship during that film. When Day One Pictures was ready to produce its first significant series, Kapadia directed it.
Camden runs to four episodes, each around 45 minutes. It explores how London’s Camden district shaped the careers of some of the most recognisable names in music, drawing on archive footage and first-person interviews. Dua Lipa served as executive producer alongside Jasper, Shymansky, and Ben Friedman, with Lightbox, the company founded by Oscar-winning producer Simon Chinn and Emmy-winning producer Jonathan Chinn, producing alongside Day One Pictures.
Participants include Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, Noel Gallagher, Little Simz, Nile Rodgers, Boy George, Pete Doherty, Mark Ronson, Questlove, Lauren Laverne, and Sister Bliss, among others.
Jasper served as executive producer. He gave no public comment on it.
Michelle Dockery’s Husband: How They Met
Jasper and Michelle Dockery met through mutual friends in London in 2019. Their first public appearance together came that same year at the Rome Film Festival, where Dockery was promoting the Downton Abbey film. They co-founded Day One Pictures together the following year.
One piece of context that matters: Dockery had been previously engaged to Irish publicist John Dineen, who died in December 2015 at 34 from a rare form of cancer. She told The Guardian in 2017: “We were engaged, and married at heart, and so I do consider myself a widow.” Jasper Waller-Bridge is the first person she married.
Their engagement was announced in The Times in January 2022, in the newspaper’s births, marriages and deaths section. Their first red carpet appearance came in April 2022 at the London premiere of Dockery’s Netflix series Anatomy of a Scandal.

The Wedding, September 2023
The ceremony was held on 23 September 2023 at St Nicholas’ Church in Chiswick, west London. Guests gathered at the nearby George and Devonshire pub beforehand. The reception followed at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham.
Michelle wore a white satin gown by Emilia Wickstead, square neckline, dropped waist, long train. Jasper wore a blue three-piece suit. Phoebe attended in a bright pink three-piece suit and hat.
Laura Carmichael, who played Lady Edith in Downton Abbey, served as a bridesmaid. Also present were Hugh Bonneville, Lily James, Joanne Froggatt, Elizabeth McGovern, Imelda Staunton, Jim Carter, Lesley Nicol, Lesley Manville, Allen Leech, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Martin McDonagh, and Julian Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey.
Their First Child
Michelle announced her pregnancy on 3 September 2025 at the Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale premiere in London, appearing on the red carpet in a dusty blue off-the-shoulder gown with her bump visible. It was the first public confirmation of the news.
The baby arrived in early January 2026. Hello Magazine reported the couple’s first outing: Michelle in a black padded coat carrying two coffees, Jasper with the newborn strapped to his chest in a baby carrier, a Baby on Board sticker on their car. On 17 February 2026, Page Six published the first photographs of Dockery pushing the newborn in a stroller through London.
The baby’s name and sex have not been made public. It is the first child for both.
Jasper Waller-Bridge has spent his career deciding which stories get made and putting the right people in place to tell them. He worked at the labels that signed the artists. He managed one of Britain’s most scrutinised young musicians through the hardest years of his solo career. He built a production company with the man who first believed in Amy Winehouse, then made a documentary with the director who eventually told her story.
Phoebe built a career turning the personal into art that millions recognised in themselves. Isobel scores the emotional weight of other people’s films. Jasper takes the production credit.
In May 2026, he is a new father, a working producer with more projects in development at Day One Pictures, and the husband of one of Britain’s most recognisable actresses. He has not given a single interview about any of it.
Whether that is temperament or a decision he made a long time ago, only Jasper Waller-Bridge knows.
